  Copperfasten Releases Version 3.0

Dublin, Ireland, Monday 19, 2005…Copperfasten, the Application Security specialist, is delighted to announce the release of the latest firmware upgrade to its range of Mail Firewall Appliances.

The Version 3 release sees even greater mail security, manageability and functionality offerings to Copperfasten customers. Included is a new reporting module providing a user friendly interface allowing the email administrator to monitor different aspects of the system, including a complete, searchable history of all messages that are processed by the Appliance.

System reports can be generated on-demand or at scheduled intervals and can be emailed to a list of predefined recipients. The reports can be generated in PDF, text or Excel Spreadsheet formats and may be archived on the appliance for latter viewing. The Copperfasten Appliance can generate reports on such items as the top spam recipients, top email users, top viruses and summary reports thus providing management with full visibility of email activity and security threats to the organization.

The underlying Spam detection engine has been improved to provide increased accuracy and also reduce the organizations exposure to potential denial of service attacks. In tandem with this ClamAV, the default Anti Virus Engine has been updated. This release includes improved scanning of Cabinet and FSG compressed files, with better database handling and filtering. The firmware release also includes a new flexible authentication module which means that users can authenticate to the user interface via an external POP3, IMAP, LDAP, Exchange, or SQL server, as well as the default internal authentication. This improved flexibility allows the Mail Firewall to offer even greater integrated security within an organization.

Further centralized management will also be possible with this release, as the Copperfasten Appliance will now be capable of integrating with third party network management tools for ongoing analysis and monitoring using Copperfastens automated syslog function. It will thus be possible for the Copperfasten Mail Firewall Appliance to form an integral part in the organizations overall network management strategy.

Commenting on the release, Ronan Kavanagh, Sales Director with Copperfasten, says: "This release again shows that Copperfasten is leading the way in the Mail Firewall market, providing ongoing practical improvements to offer our customers the most comprehensive solution possible for the protection of their email."
